Framework Booklet Checklist for
The Sacraments of Reconciliation & First Holy Communion
As a parent you are the first teacher of passing on the faith to your child, following is a list of prayers and teachings that every Catholic child should know when being presented for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. The prayers and teachings are categorized as “Prayers and Teachings You and Your Child Must Know”; these prayers and teachings need to be memorized and your child must be able to recite them when asked.
And “Prayers and Teachings You and Your Child Should Be Strongly Aware of”, these two categories should be very familiar to your child. They do not have to be memorized verbatim but they should be able to hold an age appropriate conversation about them.
It is important that your child should first, have a level of competency appropriate to their age in order to receive the Sacraments.

- Now how do we lose grace on our own?
- How can we get it back?
- How should we always receive the Eucharist?

- Practice of Confession
- Regular Daily Examination of Conscience

Teachings You and Your Child Should Be Strongly Aware Of :
“Prayers and Teachings You and Your Child Should Be Strongly Aware Of”, these two categories should be very familiar to your child. They do not have to be memorized verbatim but they should be able to hold an age appropriate conversation about them
