Thank you

As Christmas arrives and the year draws to a close, I would like to say ‘Thank you’ to some of the many people who contribute so much to making St. Peter’s the parish that it is.

In the first place, I want to thank our very dedicated parish staff, without whom I would not be able to do very much: Deacon Ireneo Ledezma, Jamie Bailey, Taunia Canchola, Maria Ledezma, Natasha Monroe, Marvin Rickett, Verna Lousignont, Fabiola Keilman, Ana Gonzalez, Blanca Anaya, and James McGlothlin.

A thank you also to Rod Ontiveros who after many years of service has retired as cemetery sexton. Welcome aboard to Matthew Rickett who has taken his place.

I would like to thank Kim Koch, principal of St. Mary’s Academy, and all the teachers and staff of the school, for all their hard work and dedication to providing the children with a first rate Catholic education.

I would like to thank the members of our parish Pastoral Council and Finance Council for their generous service: Joseph Bodolay, Michael Blair, Jose Ornelas, Ed Elliott, Alex Rodriguez, Brenda Trapp, Frank Gilligan, Nancy Ledezma, David Peters, Darlene Marick, Jose Gonzales, Laura Re, and Alejandro Rojas.

A thank you to Jorge Barragan for his years of service as chair of the Finance Council.

We all owe a special thanks to Julian Sanjuan for his dedicated work as sacristan, day in and day out, making sure that all the Masses and other liturgical functions are properly prepared. I also want to thank all of our acolytes, ministers of communion, lectors, altar servers, ushers, and all those who take part in our various choirs for their generous service in the liturgy.

Thank you also to all our catechists for their hard work and labor of love in teaching the young and old the Catholic faith and preparing them for the sacraments.

I would like to thank all to take part in the various organizations that contribute so much to the life of the parish and the community: the Altar Society, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Grupo de Oracion, the Grupo de Jovenes, the Boy Scouts. A special thanks to Mary Sallee for keeping our Youth Choir going.

Thank you to so many others too numerous to mention by name. Thank you to every single parishioner who by your presence, your prayer, and your contributions, great and small, help to build up the family of God in this parish.

To everyone a very merry Christmas and happy new year!
